Powerful Learning Manipulative

We have been collecting valuable feedback from parents, teachers, and children over the years. We would like to share information with our community of Magna-Tects!

“I teach in a classroom for children with Autism. I have 8 students, ranging in age 3 to 7. One of our goals is to teach them how to engage in appropriate play while being as independent as possible. The students had a chance to play with the Magna-Tiles while participating in a social skills group. I was amazed by how much they all seemed to enjoy them and were able to play fairly independently.”  Jill L of Massachusettes, USA

“I am an occupational therapist and work on eye hand coordination as well as visual motor skills. I work on improving the abilities of children with disabilities and improve their play skills as well.” Adina T of New York, USA

“As a speech therapist I use Magna-Tiles for reinforcing shape concepts, following directives, and of course for reinforcement after at the end of a session.”  Janet F of New York, USA

“We have had Magna-Tiles in our home for 2 years. First the boys learned the names of the triangles, but have recently noticed the different angles on the insides (ours are translucent) and we have been measuring the angles inside them. Great way to introduce some elements of geometry while still “playing” with them.”  Zolynne S.

“My children are on the younger side, so we focus on concepts like color, shape, bigger than/smaller than, etc. Our favorite thing to do though is to build towers and learn about which objects are heavier than others. We build the same tower each time and then set a different toy on top to see if he will “crush” the tower. Thanks to Magna-Tiles being so strong, I’ve got to say it takes a pretty heavy toy to bring the tower down!” Brigette K.

“We use them on the light table for the younger groups and then use a dry erase marker on them to write sight words so that they can STICK TOGETHER sentences for beginning readers.
We recreate famous landmarks, space ships, cars…anything we are learning about!” Michelle V.

“My four year old loves to play with Magna-Tiles at daycare. He invented a game where the children build different shaped structures and then simulate “earthquakes” to see what kind of structures stand up to the earthquakes and which ones fall down. It’s teaching him math and science, all while having fun!” Gemma M.

“My son has Magna-Tiles in his classroom at school, and the kids love them! He and his friends build 3-D structures and give them to each other as “gifts.” Melody N.
