Children will learn about length, width, and height of shapes and how they are related when building with Magna-Tiles.
- Measuring your Magna-Tiles with a ruler – how many inches is each square? How many small squares fit on top of one large square?
- Measuring weight – will this structure hold the weight of my cars or will it collapse? Can I balance another isosceles triangle on top of my castle?
- Capacity – is this safari I built big enough for all of my toy animals? Will all of my airplanes fit and be able to land on the space landing I made?
- Estimating and measuring in nonstandard units – “Magna-Tiles” units. How many Magna-Tiles high is your tower? How many Magna-Tiles tall are you? Make a prediction and then measure to see if you were right!
